My is220d has had some power issues for the last week or two which i seem to have pinpointed down to a fuel leak on the side of the pump at the back of the cylinder head.

What i was wondering was if anybody here had changed one of these themselves or had a dealer do it, was it possible to get these pumps overhalled or is there any other magical fix to sort this problem. I'm just getting over the shock of a dealer egr replacement and dpf regen.

Thanks in advance

Hi Stuart and welcome to the LOC, we are a
friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull them to bits and
put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer
left over.

We recommend you spend a couple of mins
looking over the rules of the LOC, we will be asking questions later

I cant help with your present queries
but I'm sure someone will be along ASAP.

A quick update. It wasn't the pump but a pipe leading from the pump to the fuel rail. I repaired the leak, but the performance of the car wasn't any better. I've now had the dpf chemically cleaned and the car terracleaned and its like a new car. Hopefully my mpg will increase as well.
