Where is it now?

After some extensive Googling I couldn't find any information at all regarding the fate of the Lexus and it's owner 'Tac'. We did find a quote from a forum user from 2011 that might be worth mentioning though:

Ed China lives up the road from me. He has had the Lexus that sold on that show for a long time in his drive (although I have not driven past for a while).

Interesting. Does that mean Edd kept the Lexus for himself? What we do know is that it hasn't been on the road since 2011 according to the DVLA report.

I wish Ed would come and work for me for nothing because they never take into account how much his time is valued which I have always thought the whole program is a sham, I know several of the earlier program where they couldn't get a buyer they just used a member of the production team as a stooge film him buying the car and then offer it in Autotrader sometime later. They often never include new tyres that have been bought but never included them in the final tally. Mike

The whole idea behind the WD series is to tackle repairs yourself. How often do you see Edd mention "A garage would charge £££ for this) You just need to look at Edd as him being yourself doing the repairs, hence no labour costs.

Not sure exactly how Wheeler Dealers work it all out but I was told by someone, who used to work for a Lexus garage, that Lexus got wind of the programme. They took the car in (for a service?) and Lexus gave it a very thorough going over mechanically before WD's got hold of it. The chap who told me seemed genuine - he said they did not want to risk the Lexus reputation. As Mike has said, you must remember that the labour costs are NOT included. With the classic cars they do, the buyer certainly gets a well sorted car. As we all know, with television, they have a great deal of poetic license!

Don't know what trickery goes on behind the scenes, but had a brief chat with Mike Brewer at this year's Cranleigh Car Show (a belter by the way!) as my LS400 purchase was a result of seeing their programme, and I put it on show. He agreed it was one of their better cars, and that he'd happily sold a few in his time with no probs. But we all know they're good, don't we?
