Be fussy, be picky, get the one you want. If it was me....I'd want an SEL and leather.

Road tax is about £500 a year if it's a manual, a lot less if auto, £290 according to normski :)

Thanks guys ur right rather go for se-l spec will miss cooled seats in summer and heated in winter as I'm used to se-l spec I rather go for that

I just did mine which is IS 250 se manual. it's 290 paid once, 305 when paid monthly. Hope this helps

There is a cross-over point somewhere around 05/06 where the road tax for a manual version changes from £290 to £490. This has come up before and caused a bit of confusion.

But iftikhar was looking at 08 reg vehicle so if it was a manual it is going to be £490.

But you are quite right it is a something you need to be aware of on a potential purchase.

The crossover date is 23rd March 2006 - manual IS250s registered before that date are band L (£290), on or after that date are Band K (£490). Autos are all band L (although I think maybe some newer ones have gone down a band by reducing CO2 emissions?)

Why 23rd March? It was budget day!

Correction - actually the day after budget day, which was Wednesday 22nd March 2006. The tax changes took effect from midnight that day, hence cars (manual IS250s) reg on Thursday 23rd March and after were affected.

Hope the fog has now lifted completely! :-)
