Hi,

What are the costs for 2 or 3 years service plans for my 2012 Ct200h (80K service approaching, drive around 8K miles annually)? Looking forward to get an estimate on the prices /deals so that I can be sure of getting a good deal.

Thanks,

Sunil

Hi Sunil, we bought a 2011 car 3 months ago, with 19000 miles on the clock. We bought a package for service 4,5 & 6 for £797. I think Service 6 is an expensive one. Don't know if it was a great deal or not but we got peace of mind at least.

£767 is a good deal buddy as the 60k one is more expensive than normal.

However, if you're CT has 80k miles on it - its better off going for either Lexus Essential Care or an independent. Reason being is that they'll try and charge you something like £1000 for the 100k one.

Thanks for the quick reply Edward & Rayaan.

Does it qualify for Lexus essential care? I thought it was only for 5+ year old cars.

It has got high mileage for its age so may qualify - its worth asking the dealer just to make sure.

Ideally you'd want to go to an independent for servicing though as Lexus charge a small fortune after the first 50k miles and it won't really affect car value that much after 50k miles. Usually, its only worth going to Lexus for servicing in the first 3-5 years providing you do 10k miles a year as using an independent would have a very big effect on depreciation. Once it has 80k miles on it, its not going to matter where you take it for servicing.

Think mine was about £1200 for the next 5 services. 3 intermediate, 1 full and 1 full+60

Not really sure if that's a good deal, but I wanted to keep with dealer servicing to keep the extended warranty, and they let me pay monthly so I don't really notice it

I'd go independent. Main costs are replacing iridium plugs ( £40 ) hybrid check ( £50 ).

Go independent for service then book hybrid check with Lexus. At 100k you would also be expected to replace timing chain - which can be £400. I would leave it until 120k anyway; at least.

You could also ask them to price match. Does work sometimes.
