Better Late Than Never...

I believe i created this account nearly 10 years ago.. i was on the look out for a toyota altezza or a lexus is200.. at the time i ended up buying a Rev 3 MR2 Twin entry turbo.. i had that for a while and all was good there.

so this evening i was looking through the papers and came across a 2004 Is200 Sport Design. The price seem too good to be true and as it was only 30 miles away i thought i was worth the viewing. i ended up buying it.

it appears to run like a clock and only needs a compound and a polish as it looks like it hasnt had any in the 10 years of previous ownership.

I will pick up a full service kit in lexus tomorrow, including all gearbox / diff and engine fluids. then i will give the car a full detail and refurb the wheels. i will post better pics then.

a quick question to anyone that knows these cars... does the radiator switch give problems on these? i was sitting in the drive way and with the car idling i noticed the temp gauge go sky high after a while. i turned on the a/c to full and the temperature came down again. just wondering if there is a separate temperature switch for the radiator fan that i can pick up tomorrow.

Hi and welcome back to the LOC, we are a
friendly bunch as you probably already know and some of us even know how to pull them to bits and
put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer
left over. I cant help with your present question but it wont be long before someone comes along and sorts it for you. Regards Mike.

Welcome back. Radiator switch for the fans can be a problem, but so can the thermostat too.
