Lexus Extended Warranty

Just wondered if anyone has had any problems with a Lexus

extended warranty.

Some people say its not worth the paper its written on.

For example has anyone taken the car in for a warranty

replacement part and been told that although that part is covered by the
warranty and will be replaced free of charge but the part next to it, witch
also HAS to be replaced is not.

For example

I have a boiler warranty and it went wrong so I called them

out, it needs a £300 part they said, but its covered under the warranty, BUT
you will have to have the system flushed first at a cost of £600 before we will
replace the part, ok I said ill flush it myself, no they said it has to be
flushed by us.

So that type of problem, in other words a complete con, I

personally haven’t had any problems but there are a lot of members on hear
talking about taking out extended warranty’s so just interested on other
peoples experiences.

Never had such a problem with an extended warranty. If something needs replacing such as a water pump then coolant replacement costs are also met by the warranty.

The Lexus extended warranty is up there with the best, only really bettered by the actual Lexus manufacturers warranty.

Had things under the "approved used warranty". 2 front tyres on GS300 Sport around 13 years ago which was caused by something going wrong on front suspension I believe and wore tyres to cord in around 500 miles.

Headlight washer relay/motor on the GS430 about 7 years ago & had some front steering/suspension bits (£800+) on GS430 after around 3 months following purchase but can't remember now which was replaced under warranty and which was done under Sale of Goods Act.

As with everything, read the small print very carefully.

Never had any issues with Lexus extended warranty - there are a few things that aren't covered like 12v Battery and they have made the 5yr version less appealing as now doesn't cover multimedia but also lowered the price
