Front Wing (fender)

HI, does anyone know if the front wings (fenders) unbolt ccompletely on a 1996 LS400. I see that there is a row of bolts along the top edge , but I don't know if any of it is welded. I want to remove the wing to respray it if possible. Thanks Paul

Hi Paul,

Yes, they completely unbolt.

Yes they are bolted on but removal of the inner liner is required as there are supports forward of the engine firewall that need unfastening.

Trying to find a Fender for a '93 is not at all easy. Only one that seems to be for sale is the right colour but the guy has so annoyed me saying he is breaking the car (now for eight months) when he hadn't actually broken it - and then he tells me he has the wings off so I ask for photo's and he says he hasn't had the Drivers side wing off and won't take it off as someone wasn't happy with the passenger side when he took it off - Total To**er! so told him he can keep it. In reality he's been trying to sell the car complete and not pay fees is the conclusion I'm coming to.

Irritating, as they wont ship from USA and probably prohibitively expensive. Its like the "Y" pipe they sell in Canada - won't ship UK. Daren't ask the price of a new Wing! Saw some Irish breakers yard with a few on top of eachother once on t'bay but they never came back to me.

Maybe I'll just repair and spray. Meantime the bubbles are getting bigger.
