Cooling Panel Fitting

Looking to fit Fargo's cooling panel & it doesnt fit.

The problem appears to be the catch you use to release the bonnet. The slot for that doeant appear big enough.

Before I start cutting I though I'd ask if this area of the car changed from Aug 1999 ?

I have the original Cusco type Dave - and my car is a 1999 too and it fits fine...

Mine went straight on(2000)..

I couldn't fit mine either, some holes didn't line up and if I tightned it up with the holes that did line up, then the whole panel buckled up

So I had a little tantrum and threw it across the garden

your not trying to fit upside down are you?.......no course your not.

You have to slide the furthest edge under the air intake slightly.

No defo right way up, took Air filter intake off and rad mounts and also the grille.

You threw it in the garden?....still the worms will make use of it, for....armour plating

Its in the garage now, but it made a good bird bath for a couple of days

On mine the holes seemed OK

it was just that little slot.

Sorry Dave i meant to ring you up,, i spoke to SteveAudio and his lex is an early 2000 not a 99 as i thought. anyways he had not fitted his yet as he is busy with building work at home.

The panels were a direct copy of the cusco one i got from SiSkippy, ther was even an extra slot put in because it was unclear if the one on the cusco should have been there or not..

TO get mine to fit i had to undo slip it under the front grill as not doing so give you the problem that Chris had of the panel warping wjen bolts were tightened.

Secret was undoing the grille screws (5) which allowed some flexing and it went in easy peasy.

The extra hole Fargo put in doesnt align but I'll either enlarge it (bees ***** out) or put my TDi commision plate there.

Chris - try what I did and it'll slip straight in as the bishop said to the alter boy

Just been out for a blast..........it must be doing something (rad panel) as the induction note has changed on & off throttle
