My First Lexus

Hi,

I have just purchased a new (pre registered) IS300H Exec from Lexus, Stoke. Have not collected the car as yet, due to process of DVLA Number Plate Retention and reissue of my (current) cars original number etc.

Service so far has been attentive and reassuring!

This will be my first Lexus, moving from Honda which has given me Excellent service over the past 7/8 years (with 2 Civics).

So looking forward to a new make and experience (never owned a Hybrid model before).

I 'WOULD' welcome any broad input/experience on Insurance Costs/Companies to cover this Model for Comprehensive Cover, No Accidents, Low mileage/Annum, 2 Named 'MATURE' drivers & Garaged or recommendations of Insurer.

Looking forward to being a Forum Member (soon) any advice/help on this Model much appreciated.

friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull the to bits and
put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer

Welcome Robin and I`m sure that you will enjoy the Lexus.

I use LV and have for several years. I have been more than happy with their premiums and claims processes, although not all members on here will be able to agree with me. We can only speak as we find!

Seems reasonable to me too Robin.

I am in Edinburgh at the moment and cannot access my current cost, but I will post it when I return home at the weekend.

Do enjoy the 300h.......it is considerably more than just a car!

Hi Robin,

My cost for this year from 5 October 2014 to 4 October 2015 has been £210 plus £17 for European Cover and £17 for £100,00 personal accident cover ,totaling £244. Fully comp for me and Margaret my wife for a GS 450h.

Thanks for that, to me, that figure seems very good for a GS450 - may I ask you what your Excess is?.

I think I will push them a little Harder when I finalise the Change over, you never know!!

I am in Hooton on the Wirral Robin and my Excess is £400 .My personal accident figure should have £100,000!

Hi John,

They quoted me £300 Excess, which seems fair enough.

Off now (Monday) to Lexus Stoke, DVLA have sent me my new V5 and No. Plate Retention Cert, so now I just have to negotiate a 3 year Service Deal for the IS (I don't think they will be as reasonable as Honda have been - but let's see what they will do!!!).
