My 1996 model LS 400 (only 98k miles) has just failed the MOT for the first time ever due to wear in a rear wheel bush. The non-franchised garage I use, who tested the car, said they can't get an aftermarket or patterned part and Lexus won't supply this on its own. Apparently it comes as a package with a replacement hub, but the feeling is that to remove the old hub may damage the bearing. I'm told that a new hub kit and bearing together will cost around £450.

Any suggestions please?

That's right, only after market. Look for ROCA rear knuckle bushings or go cheap with FEBEST TAB-021Z.

Spot on Steve,[ is that a new name?] I did this job on my '94 years ago with ADUS and it's been fine
