Hi folks newbie here i have a third generation GS and the Battery went dead so i jumped it off my own car and it started but then i turned her off and upon trying to restart the alarm kept going off and the doors locked, now the red security light stays lit and nothing works in the car?

Help!

On my second generation, I had to turn the ignition on for 6 minutes for the immobiliser to relearn its memory, googled it and thats how I found the answer, because I was completely stumped.

There is, keep your foot of the break pedal and press the start button twice, then after about 10 seconds again and will switch off then restart as normal

Battery is only a few months old the lights and all work but no ignition lights or radio..

I ended up getting it transported to a dealership who diagnosed it as the main fuse blown, 100 quid later and we are sorted..

Did you stop the engine before or after disconnecting the jump leads?

After I'd say Colin which was insane on my own behalf as i used our month old A4!
