Hi all.Just wondering if anyone has had their rear a/c pipes capped/welded as I have a leak on my rear pipe(common apparently) and it is too expensive to replace. Thanks in advance.

Not a personal experience, but I have read about a few have deleted (capped off) the rear a/c pipe.

Had my aircon re-gassed a couple of weeks ago, loud 'hisssssssing' noise from the rear. Top Bloke doing the job instantly said, 'rear pipes gone, I'll cap off the front'. He did the job and re-gassed, lovely and cold inside now.

Hi Mark, Took the bloke less than 3 hours to do the job. Or at least it was 3 hours later that I got the car back. He charged me £100 'all in' which I found to be extremely reasonable. Especially considering he had to use considerably more gas than usual, due to leak. He is a refrigerant specialist and knew straight away what the problem was, as its a Lexus.???

Hi All,

I went for the Ac gas refill for my 04' ls430 and that bloke said the same thing that rear pipes are leak as there was a loud hissing noise coming from the rear end when he tried filling....any recommendation would be highly appreciated. I am in Birmingham but I can travel if anyone knows someone who can fix it.

Hi Sheikh, I would think the bloke who did mine is too far from you, unless like many of us you want an excuse to go for a drive.. This is his e-mail adress.  jon@fuels4tomorrow.com

Address: 4 Church St, Carlton-le-Moorland, Lincoln LN5 9HR
Phone: 01522 788363
I'm guessing its about 90+ miles..
