Access To Rear Lights From The Bumper.

Recommended Posts

guys, I took my car to a body shop to stick on rear reflector LEDs, went to collect and nothing done.

nada

He was gone home so could not speak to him, I had a rate of 110 arranged to do the rear lights, fit lip spoiler and touch up my front alloy.

I had a quote of 100 from another garage for lights alone.

Why did he not do these lights? I would think it easy, bumper off and wire into the rear terminals? Am i underestimating this work? (can you even wire them up like that, - canbus?) I am going on holidays at weekend and can try this in my own garage, but wondering why it was not carried out today.

I'm pretty sure that there's no direct access to the rear light wiring just by removing the bumper. And have you got rear parking sensors? If so, removing the bumper is pretty involved, at least by the official method (eg it involves removing most of the boot trims).

He's maybe realised that this is a lot bigger job than he'd imagined - or maybe he just couldn't be bothered!

You're gonna have to ask him what's going on!

i gave him £40 for fitting the spoiler and touching up the front wheel, He said he did not want to get involved in wiring lights, said safety etc etc. Would these trip the VSC lights etc? canbus errors?

There is a how to do it being looking myself hardest part taking rear bumper off, which isnt that hard. The rear reflector is held by a screw or bolt

insert the new one and connect the wire to brake lights hardly rocket science.
