2004 Ls430 Locking Unlocking Beep

hi

according to manual when you lock your car it should beep. locking unlocking beep.

there is volume knob under dash that makes no difference.

any idea why my car not beeping.

also i have seen some cars where horn honks when you lock car.

Ditto, and neither did my LS400, even though it was supposed to.

On my 460, the beep is selected ON/OFF via the central touch screen.

As for horn honks..........an LS would NEVER be so vulgar!

hmm so this is still a mystery.

I guess main dealer is able to do this.

I'll enquire tomorrow if i get chance.

I'm glad to say most, if not all, Lexus vehicle are silent when arming/disarming the security system. It may be a dealer configurable option on some models - not really sure why you would want this, you can hear the door locks and see the indicators.

On my 1993 I used to get a beep and indicators flashing and there was a knob under the dash for the beep.

On my 1990 I get nothing and no knob under the dash, just behind the wheel ;)
