Just recovered my key from my jeans after a full cycle in the washing machine. Its sitting on the window ledge now drying out.

Anyone else done this and did the key survive?

There is no point in air drying this as the mechanism is easily accessible.

You should open the key, remove the Battery and use a hair dryer on it.

Put it back together and then see if it works.

All ok now. The rubber O ring on the Battery cover stopped water entering the main part of the key. Hair dryer removed any moisture left.

Great save.

Good job it has that rubber seal, I think the batteries have lithium in and on a hot wash, that wouldn't be pretty!!! :)
