Hi,

I've just ordered & received a replacement Battery for my 2007 RX400h, and the thing is physically about 4cm shorter than the one in the car! The width is fine & the supplier says this is the only batty I can get in this width. He said it'll be fine "when you clamp it in like you're supposed to do" - is this right?? Does the fact it's a little shorter matter or does it just clamp in somehow?

Any advice much appreciated!!

Thanks,

Steve.

Does the standard Battery fit the tray exactly so there is no sideways movement? If there is some movement the the clamp is holding it in place and your replacement should also be fine. You shouldn't over tighten the clamp as you could split the Battery casing but you should be able to apply enough pressure to stop it sliding.

I replaced the Battery on my 400h at my local tyre and Battery place, and although the body of the Battery was the same size it was stepped at the bottom so would not fit the tray. They finally got one and said it was for a Toyota MR2. Don't forget you'll have to reset the power windows and roof, and if you have a reverse camera you'll need to reset the moving yellow marker lines too.

I replaced mine recently and after phoning my nearest Lexus dealership they gave me a price and as they own my local Toyota garage they arranged for me to pick it up there. When I went to pick it up the guy said pity you didn't just come in , you could of had the same Battery for the MR2 roadster for a lot less, but as I paid already it was to late. So in future will just get one for a MR2 roadster and save some cash.

I own both a MR2 and RX and they are the same.

Hello there I've had my 400h for 2 and a half years now and I've never had trouble with the Battery even after the I use my autochair hoist in the back to get my mobility scooter in and out but even so I've never had a problem with the Battery. Just thought I'd say
