As above thinking of changing all mine for the same 10 spoke from a dealer, what i would like to know

did they ever resolve the rubbish paint job on them.

I will then use mine for the winter tyres i have purchased as they are marked and blistered.

paint yours?

Mine are much better than what they did look like, they also repel dust much better but that could be due to the pads and discs

Do you know what they did to your wheels ?

I have seen a couple of TV programmes where they do very little prep, and simply mask the tyres and spray !!!

How much does it cost ?

Nice brakes.... they don't look original ?

they are MTEC discs and yellowstuff pads. If you want to do wheels proper it will cost a bit more but you get what you pay for.

I can get a set for about 450.00 brand new, the reason i ask my brother in law has a avensis on a 54 plate his wheels look as good as

new. Would it pay to coat them with some Gtechniq c5 or similar product from the start.

When I got my IS250 it was from a Lexus Used Approved dealer, so came with a 1 year warranty. About 10 months later, the front wheels showed signs of blistering so got them replaced for free. About 18 months later the new ones started to blister, despite regular cleaning/waxing. Although that was a few years ago I doubt the issue has since been resolved. I am also thinking about buying a new set and getting the current ones refurbished for winter tyres and will definitely get them coated with sealant prior to use.

Hello,

Thank you for your follow up.

These alloys are the supersession of the original alloy fitted.

Therefore yes they are from a later date.

This is a message i recieved about the wheels i am interested in, are they updated sounds like it dont you think.

What exactly does that mean? What did you ask? What you need to know is do they still corrode? What warranty do they have? The stealership will play with words if you let them.

That was the answer i got when i asked them, the wheels are a third cheaper, do i take the plunge or leave alone.

Well bit the bullet ordered 4 today being quoted stupid prices secound hand cheaper brand new.

They do still corrode - its the metal and not the paint that's the issue

For examples just look through eBay for people selling them from their newer cars stating they need a refurb.

Wheels came today coated with Gtechniq C5 see how they go, will say one thing bit mean with paint on the back.

The brake calipers on toffee-pie's look good. Are they standard ? Mine don't say 'Lexus' on the outside...
