Today my Is250 has developed a knock/click under braking. Only once at the beginning of the braking process and not every time. It's coming from the front OS (I think) brakes and when it happens it is strong enough to feel on the brake pedal.

Braking doesn't appear to be affected either.

Wondered if it was the beginning of a stuck caliper that was "pinging" out when enough pressure was applied?

Any thoughts?

It would be worth inspecting it if you know its still moving - maybe catch it in time before it does seize

Suns out at the weekend .. allegedly !!??

Unfortunately this is not going to be diagnosed without taking the wheel off and getting dirty.

Did all four wheels on mine last week, 3 hours steady work to strip down the callipers and free up the bastid rear pivot pins, but do-able.

I find I need to strip both front and back calipers every year to free the caliper and the pins that they should slide on.

I do all four corners twice a year - doesn't take long to check and re-grease - saves the buggering about of un seizing them. I use the recommended Toyota red rubber grease found it to be ok so far
