Please, Please Help...

Hi all,

This has been posted numerous times, even very recently here. I have the dreaded front knocking o/s suspension. I've replaced both upper and lower ball joints, shock absorber (3 times), top mount all to no avail. I'm now suspicous of the large bush on the lower steering control arm (I think that's what it's called).

What's people's view on the condition of this bush?

That's the rear lower control arm bush. Very common for them to perish and yeah yours look shot.

This was mine when I took it off. Completely split. Yours looks similar

Thanks Chris. New one then. I haven't got a bush removal tool so need to go the whole arm which is over £100. Oh well...

Take the arm off. Take it to absolutely any garage because they will have a bush press and ask them to press it out and press the new ones in. This will be a lot cheaper. Also replace both, always replace in pairs. The bushes are pretty cheap. £18 each from eBay.

Curios as to where you can get an arm for £100 also? Cheapest I found was £260 for OEM as nobody else seems to make them. TRD ones were £300 each

I've asked three garages local to me and they all said no - they'll only replace complete arms. :megaangry: :megaangry: :megaangry: :megaangry:
