I've has my is220d for just over a month now but the past two weeks when sitting still at idle the revs will drop and then rise again quite quickly and it has recently started stalling as well when sat still at idle. When the car Is driving it is perfectly fine returning good mpg with plenty of power. Has anyone else had this problem? Or know what it may be?

Thanks in advance

I don't own one but judging by the amount of diesel owners experiencing similar issues to this then its more than likely to be your DPF

Just needs cleaning

I tried sitting at 3000 revs for 10 mins but this hasn't helped and I don't have any warning lights. I've seen other people with similair posts but there hasn't been any explanation to what it may be?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm fairly handy when it comes to cars but not with so many electronics

The filter may be too far gone that you need to actually clean it to give it a chance in the future to let it regen itself - there are quite a few posts here that run through how to clean this.

Even though you have tried to force the regen of the filter then that may not have been enough to clear it.

Could it still be the dpf even if the car drives fine with good mpg? If I took out an extended warranty would it be covered for the dpf? And how do you actually take it out and clean it?

Thanks
