I tired to use the 12v Aux socket in the tray under the Automatic shifter by the floor to power my tyre compressor and it did not work. I then tried the one in the boot and this did not work either. My Belkin USB charger did not power up in both sockets either. The only 12v socket which worked for both devices was the one in the armrest. Now it find it hard to believe that both sockets are faulty so I am thinking that a fuse has gone somewhere. I did a quick search and found two posts on this topic which hinted at a fuse issue but no one confirmed this. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please do not tell me that these two sockets only work with compatible leads :(

Have you looked up above the glove box when it's open, there is a fuse box there on my 400h

Very much sounds like a fuse has blown. It will be located in the drivers side fusebox. Details are in the owner's manual.

Thank you. I will take a look

just had a look at the user manual and must confess that I can't make much sense of it. Firstly I don't know where it's talking about for any fuseboxes that are located inside the car, and secondly I can't find anywher in the manual where the functions of the fuses are listed.

Anyone got a complete list?

The power outlet on the floor at the front seems to be off and also the one in the boot. But the one in the front dash is OK.

I had a similar problem: turned out that the problem was not with the sockets, but with the adaptors I was using. Some work, some don't, but I cannot tell you why.

For instance I found that I could charge my Sony phone from one socket... but not my son's Iphone.

Yeah - I did wonder about checking that Daniel. But it would seem odd to make the in-car sockets different depths.

In a fusebox under the bonnet I found one fuse socket labelled Powr outlet 2. It had no fuse in it at all so I put a 15amp in but it made no difference to the two non-functional sockets.

I haven't been able to locate the fuse box in the drivers foot well yet as it looks like you have to take a panel off and I only had a quick look the other night. It does sound like only certain chargers/ devices will work from these two sockets though. Why would they do this? Seems so stupid and makes them rather redundant. I am popping by Lexus on Friday so will enquire then.

I think it has something to do with the length of the charger that you are using. My tire compressor seems to pop out of the dash socket but is happier for some reason in the boot and the floor socket....

I think you should definitely check the charger.

check last night: same charger works with my Sony, but not with the Iphone. In the same socket.
