Don't suppose you can park the IS300h in one of these, I assume it's for plug in only. Shame as loads around Milton Keynes I'd like to make use of.

No one will notice, promise!

Just stick the cable uneed the car and people will think it's charging. Hybrid badges should help too

As driver of a Battery electric car with a maximum of 80 mile range it's just a tad annoying to turn up at a charge point to find it ICEed by a non plug in car.

Actually I'm not that militant as some EV drivers, since I've not paid for electric parking bays to be made, nor will I have to pay to even use them. Plus I got lots of recharge options :)

But hopefully as more people buy Battery EVs people will realise some EV owners may count on these bays to keep them mobile (ie: people who live in flats with no charging at home).

BUT if I came across a Rapid charger that was ICEed I'll happily block in the car in the bay, and run the charger lead around the offending car, and happily charge away till I'm moving....

Blocking a Rapid charger is the equivalent of sitting a petrol station fuel pump whilst reading a newspaper/doing your shopping, Yea I know people do this now already, but knowingly doing it (ie parking you IS300H in a rapid charger bay knowing you cannot recharge) is just idiotic...

They probably won't even realise lol

I think your find nearly all plugin and Battery EV drivers very knowledgeable about their cars. Especially around which car can charge at the various different rapid charger bays.

The IS300H is a fab car, but seeing one in a charging bay for any EV drivers is the equivalent of seeing a farm tractor pulling into an unleaded only petrol pump...Just plain stupidity.

Reality says to me that as more people 'take up' electric 'only' vehicles their owners will struggle to find a 'empty' charging bay anyway! - and also presuming that the charge point isn't one of the many inoperative ones!

By that logic we should be able to park in disabled parking bays....after all we are all getting older and at some point will likleu qualify for a disabitly pass :p

Some rapid chargers aren't very reliable, my experience is that 50% of the time they might be displaying an error. But given that thocal Nissan dealers rapid charger works 100% of the time I've been, it suggests the reliability may be a problem of user misuse - Maybe from people trying to stick it into a IS300H ;)

The slower Type 2 chargers nearly always work, in 1500 miles of EV driving I've only come across one inoperable Type 2 charger.

Now with disabled, parent/child & charging points, I'll have to park in Park and Ride to get anywhere near Sainsbury's entrance :)

Actually there are a lot of people with Disabled badges who don't need them! Back pain counts as a disability apparently!

WHO definition of disability is something along the lines of inability to complete an activity in a range considered normal for a human being due to an impairment.

In my local Tesco's they seem to have more disabled parking bays than normal parking bays!

There's a reason for that.

Have you seen the average Tesco's customer?

Don't do it! - You'll give Lexus drivers a bad name.

I don't want to be compared to an Audi - or worse a BMW driver!

:whistling:

I wasn't suggesting I was going to do it, in some of the Milton Keynes bays any car can park at certain times, EV bays very underused at the moment.
