After 3 weeks with my new (to me) '63 IS300h Premier, so far very pleased with it.

The feeling of "luxury" when sitting in the car is fantastic, the leather soft and sumptuous, the ventilated seats great in this weather (if a bit feeble) the sunroof (yes very rare!) is lovely, providing light to the cabin, which is bright anyway with Ivory leather.

The drive is sublime, incredibly refined, compared to my previous diesel, and the economy seems to be around 50mpg.

The downsides are the infotainment system, with regular crashes, unable to answer incoming calls, and complaints of echos but apparently only for the first minute or so, my previous £200 7 year old Chinese unit never crashed and was far simpler to use, with house numbers being able to be entered when postcode search was used.

Is it possible to mute the sat nav when using the phone?

The only other niggle being a rattle seemingly from around the sat nav unit and dash, which hopefully will be solved by the dealer, my 9 year old Hyundai with 117,000 miles was rattle free.

Overall, though the car is fantastic, and really has a feel good factor, the best thing about it being it's exclusivity - it is not a BMW or Audi!

Good to hear you are pleased, the occasional rattle does seem to bug Lexus and the infotainment system is pretty poor by todays standards. Re the nav, I think if you go to the second page on the menu you can put the post code and then the house number, but it isn't possible to mute directions when on the phone, and neither does the stereo volume automatically reduce when instructions are given.

And yes, the exclusivity is nice!

I have to drive down a particularly course road surface on my way to work, only just resurfaced so it is nice and flat but they used quite large stone chips, and I can hear 5 or 6 different rattles occurring at times on that road. My dealer has looked at a couple but didn't really resolve them.

check and make sure that rattles are not being caused by loose items in the door or glovebox.

Thought I had a rattle in mine and finally isolated it to the locking wheel nuts in the box in the glovebox and a plastic Evian bottle in the passenger door!

Do you have a box for locking wheel nuts? I just have the socket, which fits into a dedicated space in the boot with the other tools. I assumed Toyota are starting to factory fit them hence no after thought accessory box.

Yes, certainly check it isn't something foreign to the vehicle making the noise. For me it isn't, I don't have anything other than my phone holder which is secure and the charging lead which is taped down.

yes - got the box, with the 4 original nuts in it and the unlocking socket.

I have the box for the wheel nuts too, my rattle was/is from the speaker cover on top of the dash near side. I also have one coming from the seat belt housing on the drivers side, my dealer has ordered a couple of parts so maybe that's a known issue.

They return the wheel nuts box to my glove compartment every service - and I put it straight back under the cover in the boot!

But rattles are a slight issue and, in fact, the description above is spot on for mine. Mine are not permanent, but do appear to come from the speakers around the sat-Mac screen.
