Velvet Black Gs 300h F Sport

I have just joined Loc as I have just bought a velvet Black GS 300h F Sport which I hope to pick up in a couple of weeks.Can anyone recommend good cleaning products and advise me on how to keep it looking highly polish and as good as new please.

I used Backfire Wet Diamond kit on my last black car.

can't compare it to others but I had great experience with Mcguiare's paint restoration kit and to get even better polish I use Hybrid V7 Optial select high gloss spray sealant and quick detailer from Chemical Guys

Shampoo - Best bang for buck is carchem shampoo

Polish - Meguiars 205 or Sonus Perfect Finish

Wax/Coating - Any of your choice - I recommend Soft99 Fusso. Lasts an age, beads like nothing else and so easy to apply. Best thing is - its japanese!

Lexus paint is very soft and although Black is one of the

best colours when clean and new it is the worst colour to keep looking that
way, it shows every chip, scratch and swirl mark. So you really need to protect
it as much as you can from new, I had a complete new car protection treatment
done on my car, ( see link below ) this adds a very hard protective layer on
top of the lacquer already on the car but is much harder, this reduces the
chances of light scratches and swirl marks, you just then have to make sure you
clean the car using the right products and in the right way.

Snow foam, two bucket system, soft mit ( not a sponge ),
micro fibre clothes, ( not a chamois ), Aqua Gleam de-ionising water filter.

All this costs money, so it all depends on how far you

really want to go.

de ionising water filter isnt needed - its only if you dont want to dry the car as it wont leave water spots.

Sponge is ok as long as you're polishing after - you can get some new sponges, the zymol ones minimize swirls and are not your conventional sponge

Two buckets is a must but you can skip the snow foam, ive found its hardly protective as it never takes all of the dirt off, just bits, which you're going to have to remove anyway so a mitt will have to glide over all surfaces of the paint regardless.

Just had a good read through that article. Amazing how much work needs doing to a brand new car to obtain optimal paint results. As soon as mine arrives in a few weeks I'll be doing something similar.

I have had great results from snowfoam followed by Poorboys Black hole.What do you think?
