Gs300 Mk2 Replacing Radio

Recommended Posts

the radio in my gs300 dosnt work and I hate not having a radio in the car.now ive been told that I cant just get one out of a scrap car as they are coded to the car now fitting a normal radio looks a nightmare so any thoughts on how to do it?

They aren't coded to the car. The only issue is if someone has set the security code. It is user defined, not a set value. If it has been set, "SEC" will briefly show on the display when powered up. Best to check that before disconnecting in the donor car.

When you say the radio doesn't work does it display the tuning mode and search for stations?

Reason I ask is with the rest working it could be a problem with the aeriel which I would suggest checking before replacing the head unit to find you have the same problem.
