Guys,

Insurance had come up, first time on the GS 450h. I had an IS and that was around £280 but the GS is £480. Should I give Adrian Flux a call through the club membership? or do most of you just use the normal companies and get good deals.

Any help or experience gratefully received.

Thanks.

I've found that Comparethemarket works for me.

For my GS300 I pay £260 for fully comp with all the extras, and no excesses added.

Depends a lot on age. Being officially an old git, I went directly to Saga where I got cover for my LS for £150, that's fully comp, NCBP and my wife as a named driver.

I was told that having my wife as a named driver reduces the premium as well. Apparently it has something to do with having her take over if I'm tired so there's less likelihood of an accident. Not much help when she's not with me though!

Most companies will be open to some negotiation as well, lots of us don't try but it's well worth it.

By all means try Adrian Flux but don't let on your a gold member until they have given you the final figure then tell them you are a Gold Member, if they say that includes the discount say no thank you and report them to the LOC as you are not getting what you were promised by becoming a Gold Member. I paid just over £150 fully comp with Churchill in October. A lot depends on postcode, age convictions. I always phone them on renewal time and ALWAYS get far better than the renewal quote. Insurers rely on apathy amongst their customers. Out of interest, comparison sites often do not give the best quotes...............Churchill were not prepared to quote according to 3 comparison sites, although they quoted for wife's car but quote was around 3 times the £140 we paid them! Always take time to phone your insurer and request a far better deal.

You will often find that comparison sites these days are used just to hook you and then get you on the telephone where the price invariably climbs. Tell them what your prepared to pay and if they say no go somewhere else. Mike

Hi,

Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you like. If you wanted to PM me some contact details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.

Regards,

Dan.
