Any recommendations on an exhuast for my IS200 sport, been looking at a couple of manufactures such as cobra sport but they don't seem to make ones that fit sport models.

I know there have a been a few posts in here that say playing around with the exhaust makes little or no difference but i have to disagree. I have owned my IS for over 6 years now so i know how it goes and feels. A coupe of weeks ago i had a Powerflow back box and 3 inch pipe put on as I wanted the car to sound just that little bit better which it does. But after reading posts on here that it wouldnt make a difference in performance I was pleasantly surprised when mine certainly did. it picks up quicker and I am going round roundabouts in 3rd I was using 2nd for previously. I do agree you can make it worse which is why I just changed the back box and got a very nice surprise all for just £250. so I think it depends what you do

A cat back system may make the loud peddle a tad more responsive ( I do mean a tad) but it won't improve power by more than 5hp at absolute best. You need to de restrict gas flow to gain power and this is don't by removing cats. The only way you really know is with a dyno read out pre and post from the same dyno centre. Ultimate as long as you are happy that's all that matters.

Well as I said before, all I can go on is how the car feels, and it is certainly more responsive and picks up noticeably quicker. roundabouts I have been round hundreds of times I can now accelerate away from quicker. my best 0-60 time has improved by 0.3 and the 30 to 80 through the gears by a good half a second. so whatever some may say about bhp or whatever, there has been a real improvement from just changing the back box and nothing else. my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner as I was put off by some of the comments on here that it wasn't worth it but clearly it is.

I see your in stafford.. i had a job done on my merc done by RJ performance in birmingham (boardsley green).. he does custom exhaust for a very very good price.. i had mine old merc for a year with no issues or banging or rattles.. top job for cheap price. I also had work done from Torque Flow, but since he merged with the MSL (massive merc specialist in Brum) his prices have shot the roof.

But RJ 's work is better and clean.. and its not far at all.. im gona be taking my ISF there this week for a custom exhaust (if i get the time)

I haven't used any actual equipment or ever had the car dyno tested, I just know how it feels. I have a friend and we measure the times on the same piece of road and it is definitely quicker, even he said he noticed it. I am as surprised as anyone that just changing the back box has made such a difference but it sure has in my case.

the car is going in to be turbocharged next week so will have some dyno figures then.... it should give around 240 bhp. be interesting!!!!
