I've got a 400 H myself so not too familiar with a 300, but it looks a good car, especially with HPI and the MOT.

I bought one for my wife back in March - similar mileage too. Observations over the last 3 months:

Wife loves it, She was nervous to begin with due to size

Fuel consumption - worse than I thought it would be, averaging 21 in town and at best 25 at motorway speeds.

It drives very nicely and is well finished, ride is comfortable and little body roll. Cruise control isn't as smooth as I expected though (compared to my LS) and it kicks down on gradients which was unexpected the first time it happened.

Make sure cam belt has been changed, auto box is smooth and with clean oil and have a good look for rust underneath. Make sure everything electrical works.

Car advertised looks nice and is well priced.

Looks ok. Few things stick out.

Wheel refurbished, colour seems different compared to original finish. Make sure it's been done properly and no bubbling is evident.

Something wrong with the rear bumper. Parking sensors look a bit naffed. SE came with parking sensors as standard but these ones stand out too much and aren't body colour. Look for signs of rear bumper damage, previous owner could have fixed without informing insurance so it wouldn't show up on HPI.

Price is optimistic. I sold my 54 plate RX300 SE with 55k miles for £6k 3 years ago. Pay £4k nothing more

I would check...

Does it have a Reversing camera - I suspect not. I think it's mandatory.

Cam belt change? - I suspect not too.

The colour? I suspect it's platinum ice, not 'sterling silver'? Just says to me - they don't know a Lexus.

Agree that the rear sensors look 'odd'.

Looks nice visually...

PS. Check the tyres.. you wants LOTS of tread left on them, and check their dates too. ( You can read off the 4 digit number on their sides )

The 2nd is sold now I think?

Consider eBay too - but trust your instincts!

And maybe ring round Lexus dealers, who have taken in a P/X?

Oh yeah. Was a good example too. First one still looks ok.

good Idea, go ahead, I bought RX400h for my Mrs. 15 days ago but unfortunately she was too scared to drive it as its bigger than her current car so I am driving it myself. hopefully within a month she should be able to...

I'm sure she'll get used to it soon...

Strange how these 'bigger' cars can feel quite 'normal' after a very short time ...

Same here. My wife would not go near the car to start with... now she won't let me in the driver's seat. She says that, despite the size, it is easiest car to drive that she has ever had

I bought an SE-L for my wife too, even though I'm the one that drives it the most. She has grown to really like the car, the comfort, and the ease of driving it. She particularly likes the reversing camera so I would consider that a must have too.

I cannot imagine being without the reversing camera.

So important to see what's behind you!

It sees before I do - if you know what I mean...
