Worrying Noise.

Hope someone can help please?

When I started her up a couple of weeks ago there was a bit of a bang from somewhere.

The auto climate now seems to groan every time I start up initially and doesn't increase/decrease

fan speed automatically any more.

All modes can be selected manually and the fan speed likewise.

Any ideas?

A mechanical bang or an electrical bang?

If a mechanical bang usually quite loud check for a broken suspension spring, one of mine

went bang [broke] just backing out of the drive.......

Surprisingly difficult to say, MoT due soon but I know broken springs are not always obvious!

I will have a look this weekend.

I'd agree with the spring theory, it's not at all uncommon.

My last LS400 had problems with the AC fan speed, it kind of made surging sounds and then wouldn't blow cold enough. I ended up buying a compressor from a breakers and it sorted the problem. Just a thought.
