Master Key Prob's

went to my 430 the other day and my master key has stopped working wirelessly!

engine starts with it in the ignition ok!

my second key works fine.

anyone had similar problems?

is there a fix I can do before I pay lexus £69 + vat to re-program it?

Could it just be a dead Battery in the master.....?

I had a similar problem on my 98 LS400 except that the key locks but does not unlock! Replaced Battery several times and had a go at reprogramming (someone kindly provided me with the factory instructions which were clearly working but ultimately failed) and had Lexus had a look but no luck. Hope you have better luck!

I've had the same thing a couple of times, the keyless entry stops working, the remote stops working but it starts OK with the key in the ignition. The next day it's fine for a few months. No idea why. They do however take quite a bit of Battery power with the smart keys. As suggested, change the Battery first to rule that out (if you haven't done so already)

Might you have nudged the button under the dash and switched the "smart" system off?

Way under your steering wheel - you are best kneeling outside the car to look - are two small buttons. One resets the tyre pressure monitoring, the other turns the smart key system on/off.

Hope it's that simple

unfortunately its not the smart key button!

so it looks like I'm off to LEXUS
