Hi, Is there a way to temporarily turn the rear sensors off as it's rather annoying with them constantly beeping when I'm trying to reverse my caravan. Thanks

There should be a switch under the door mirror position adjuster to turn them on/off.

Is THAT what that switch does! Been wondering about that for 3 years. thank you! :phone:

That switch is to switch off the electric folding mirrors. I had to use that so that they wouldn't try to fold in with the caravan extended mirrors on when I switched off the ignition.

On my 460 there is a switch to select the auto mirrors off and another to switch off the parking sensors.

I've said this before but.............sometimes we have to forget our basic male instincts and ACTUALLY read the Owners Manual. Trust me, you'll be amazed by all the things your car can do when you know how!

on my 430 (which is a facelift) there is a switch next to the steering wheel with a "P" on it which swicthes of the parking sensors - mine are currently switched off because a front one is faulty and emits a constant bleep

Here is a picture of the switches. The top one adjusts the mirrors and the bottom one gives the option to fold them in, fold them out or automatically fold in when the ignition is switched off. My car is a November 2000 model.post-52474-0-27113000-1432142461_thumb.j

I don't know of a switch in mine that disconnects the sensors, you have a separate switch on the right if you have the front sensors, but not for the rear. Maybe finding the correct fuse is the answer.

Ah well maybe I'll have to sort something out. Seems to be a few differences in some cars as mine doesn't have front sensors either. In the owners manual it shows a park assist button too which mine doesn't have.

Certainly on the earlier ones like ours, the park assist button was only for the fronts, and that seemed to be an option. I've no idea how hard it would be but maybe a switch could be added to operate the rears. Have you tried contacting Lexus to see if they're familiar with this? There must be loads of people towing with these cars, you see lots for sale with tow bars.

Contacted Lexus today and they told me there is a switch in the boot near the L/H light that will switch it off. They said they have had customers saying that their rear sensors were not working only to find out that something like a baby buggy had turned it off. Guess what....no switch, bugger!
