Anyone else see the cost of petrol in their areas increase

Shell V power here at £1.25.9

Shell standard here at £1.17.9

Supermarket (ASDA) £1.14.9

Its not been mentioned on the new as it was the last time it went up?!

Yes, filled up this morning at Asda at the price you state.

No Shell stations for miles around here.

I alternate fuel between Asda and Texaco.

I'm surprised Petrol is more expensive up north, in London Shell Regular Petrol 1.15

It's the same here in Northampton normal petrol(Tesco)now £1.15.9,seems to be all over the news when prices go down but hardly when they gradually creep back up,it's gone back up by over 10p in the last three months

It's 'cos the price of oil (in US dollars) has increased by about 30% over the last 4 months. Meanwhile the pound has appreciated against the dollar, which tends to reduce the price of oil in pounds, but only by about 7% over the same period. An increase in the pound price of oil increases the cost of petrol - not only the base price but also the VAT component.
