More Rattles!

Developed a rattle from the rear of the car! the mind starts to think the worst i.e rear motor problems. No it's a flimsy bit of aluminium heat shield there to protect the spare from the heat from the exhaust!!! It was attached by one bolt and resting on the exhaust. I thought I could repai theis with some new bolts and a couple of penny washers but NO the three bolts are all siezed solid. You wouls think that for a car of this refinement Lexus could do something better than use captive bolts so when you try to undo them you would break the mounting first!!!

You could try using some of the compund For sealing exhaust gaskets or maybe even some silicone sealant might do
