alarm keeps going off intermittently, changed Battery in key fob but still keeps going off at random,

I do a lot off very short journeys and very few miles per week.

I've noticed this doesn't happen after I've done a decent run and use the car more reguarly,

was wondering if this maybe due to the Battery voltage dropping on the car and therefore triggering the alarm. many thanks!!

Thanks for the replys!! Just found a very loose Battery terminal that obviously wasn't helping.

Good mate of mine is flying in next week from the states and borrowing the old girl to visit his mum in Ireland, he will be doing about 1200 miles In the car, will see what happens then. Thanks again guys.

Had same thing happen on current and previous LS.

Came down to a Battery starting to die. Last Battery failure on current car was about 3 weeks from problems with alarm to being dead.

Had same problem on Omega many years ago, and from alarm being a pain to Battery totally dead was less than 10 days, so if your mate is going to be on a trip, a Battery check - which are usually free - seems like a good bet to me.

Adam

Do your mate a favour put a new Battery on the car .The symptoms are those of a failing Battery ,constant short runs and lots of starts sulphate the Battery and reduces its charge holding capacity this eventually leads to a shorted cell which is why your alarm is going off.

Even after a good run up to Ireland the Battery will slowly discharge whilst stood and if your pal likes Guinness the car might be stood still for a while.
