  2. Hi guys, After a set of roof bars for my LS430 but can't find much online other than from Japan or the US which I would rather avoid if possible. Anyone managed to find some that work well from somewhere closer? Thanks

  4. Until we get some hard facts this is all just speculation on what if anything Lexus plan to do.
  5. I could be misunderstanding this but lets have a theoretical accident where the 12v battery is disconnected and the fuel tanker that hit you is about to engulf your car in flames. How do you get out?
  6. I recently had a small problem with hit & miss acceleration on the LS430 that turned out to be a Variable Valve Timing Solenoid. It eventually flagged a fault code saying it was faulty so it was replaced. (An easy 20 min do-it-yourself job.) That cured the acceleration issue. But it made me realise it had been causing problems for some time before it flagged a fault code. The car had been hesitant to go when you put your foot down, but then would suddenly pick up.
  7. Is your car running normally despite the messages? I had a 2006 450h and I once had both of these messages but I remembered at the time it happened having previously read an old post on this site that said something along the lines of cycling through starting and stopping the car in quick succession and it could clear them. Typically I can't find that post now but it did work for me. What is the condition of your 12v battery? If this is on the way out it can also result in some strange messages being thrown up. With regard to the warranty for the hybrid battery, it's as @wharfhouse has stated but unfortunately as you state your car is a 2008 model this warranty would no longer apply. I think you have accidentally pressed the 'Luggage security' button in the glove box. If this system is activated it does exactly what you describe. It's easily done and many on here have done it in the past (including me).
  8. Today I installed the replica china air strut. Everything seems te be working fine. Will see how it holds in the coming months.
  9. Coolant caps have been known to fail, internal parts come adrift!, and may lead to loss of pressurisation and then coolant loss.
  10. Hi Mike and welcome to the club. I take it you have purchased a RX 450h F Sport? I agree with @rayaans they should supply them with the car. If for some bizarre reason they can't or won't I would point them in the direction of the nearest dealership or to https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/ and demand they buy you a new set.
  11. Probably because Aviva only increased their profits by 9% and gave an 8% share dividend but still increased your premium double that amount!
  12. Apparently this is a common problem and very expensive to fix out of warranty.
  13. Yeah - that must be like a Birmingham thing... for me imports are never cheaper. London thing is - put business use on insurance to make it cheaper, as far I know that isn't a thing anywhere else. But for last 5 years I am putting 2000 miles business use and it saves me like £200-£400.
  14. MultiMedia system release, with the number nominally being the year of release. For example the new NX and RX have MM21. Paul
  15. Oh my …….. you think Stephen might be tempted to offload both his Sc430 AND his Jag too 🙌 🤣😂🤫 Malc
  16. I am half that, but I feel exactly the same. Lexus have blown 40 plus years of expensive work establishing the Lexus brand. Time to sell your Toyota shares I think.
  17. Second this. Eufy are very good, been using them for over a year now, no problems what so ever. Battery lasts 3 to 4 months, takes a couple of hours to charge.
  18. I’ve always used it neat on both the tyres and the under bonnet trim 👍🏻
  19. I had mine serviced last year before it’s 10th anniversary and less than 100k and I asked if I get another year of relax warranty and was told yes. When I got the service details it said warranted till 6 September 2024, and I later received an email confirming it with my policy number
  20. Isn’t this what it is designed to do. Exactly what mine does, the engine runs as required but to stop the car being stolen everything shuts down when the door handle is touched. It says this somewhere in the manual.
  21. https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/which-cars-are-stolen-most-often-in-london/ Worth a read, clearly an epidemic affecting a lot of marques as well as Lexus, albeit given the lower numbers (I assume) of Lexus out there the proportionate risk of theft must be higher?
